At FORTE we adopt a holistic approach to our curriculum that helps the development of children aged 11-16, with an emphasis on four key strands
Leaders in academic delivery based on linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical and aesthetic and creative education.
Numeracy and literacy must always remain at the heart of any curriculum. High quality teaching and learning is key to effectively delivering an engaging curriculum that meets the individual needs of each student.
Our robust assessment, target setting, intervention strategies and highly skilled staff will work closely with senior leaders and individual staff members from the child’s parent school.
Working hand in hand with stakeholders around the child, we support and actively take part in the assessment processes required in each case, ensuring the needs of the child are captured and recorded.
For students who, for a range of educational, behavioural and developmental reasons, require time away from their school, we deliver, therapeutic interventions and a way to access next steps towards an appropriate setting.
We will work to identify the key issues affecting the individual child, the bespoke support they will need whilst at FORTE and finally the support needed to ensure the transition is successful.
Transition work begins before the child arrives and continues until the child succeeds.
Young people disengage from education for many reasons and find it difficult to cope with the everyday rules and expectations we take for granted. They struggle to maintain relationships with their peers and other adults, with poor behaviour often masking a number of issues. With this in mind, one of the key features of our curriculum is the flexible and creative ways in which the different social, emotional and behavioural needs of each individual child and young person is met.
